Opening

O God, come to my assistance.

Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Hymn
Come, Lord, Do Not Delay
Come, Lord, do not delay;
your people wait for you;
illuminate this midday hour
with all that is your truth.
Psalmody
Psalm 119Let My Plea Come Before You (Sin)
Ant. Let justice surge like water, and goodness like an unfailing stream.
Let my supplication, O Lord, draw near in your sight; give me understanding according to your word.
Let my petition come in before you; rescue me according to your word.
My lips will utter a hymn, when you will have taught me your justifications.
My tongue will pronounce your words, for all your commandments are justice.
Let your hand be made to save me, for I have chosen your commandments.
I have longed for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my meditation.
My soul will live and will praise you, and your judgments will help me.
I have wandered like a lost sheep; seek your servant, because I have not forgotten your commandments.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Let justice surge like water, and goodness like an unfailing stream.
Psalm 119Your Salvation, O Lord (Tau)
Ant. Let justice surge like water, and goodness like an unfailing stream.
I have longed for your salvation, O Lord, and your law is my meditation.
My soul will live and will praise you, and your judgments will help me.
I have wandered like a sheep that is lost; seek your servant, for I have not forgotten your commandments.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Let justice surge like water, and goodness like an unfailing stream.

Concluding Prayer
O God, as John the Baptist made ready the way of the Lord, so prepare us this day to receive him in the poor, the stranger, and the suffering; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

And give him thanks.
