Opening

O God, come to my assistance.

Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Hymn
Lord, Who Throughout These Forty Days
Lord, who throughout these forty days
for us did fast and pray,
teach us with you to mourn our sins
and close by you to stay.
Psalmody
Psalm 119You Are Just, O Lord (Pe)
Ant. Have mercy on me, O God, in your great kindness.
You are just, O Lord, and your judgment is right.
You have commanded justice as your testimony, and your truth greatly.
My zeal has made me pine away, because my enemies have forgotten your words.
Your word is greatly tried by fire, and your servant has loved it.
I am very young and despised; I have not forgotten your justifications.
Your justice is justice forever, and your law is truth.
Tribulation and anguish have found me; your commandments are my meditation.
Your testimonies are equity forever; give me understanding, and I will live.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Have mercy on me, O God, in your great kindness.
Psalm 119I Have Cried With My Whole Heart (Tsade)
Ant. Have mercy on me, O God, in your great kindness.
I have cried with my whole heart; hear me, O Lord; I will seek your justifications.
I cried out to you; save me, so that I may keep your commandments.
I arose before daylight and cried out; I hoped in your words.
My eyes anticipated the morning, so that I might meditate on your words.
Hear my voice, O Lord, according to your mercy; and enliven me according to your judgment.
Those who persecute me have drawn near to iniquity, but they have been made far from your law.
You are near, O Lord, and all your ways are truth.
From the beginning I have known from your testimonies, for you have founded them forever.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Have mercy on me, O God, in your great kindness.
Short Reading
2 Corinthians 6:2
Behold, now is a very acceptable time; behold, now is the day of salvation.
Responsory
V. We adore your cross, O Lord.
R. We praise your holy resurrection.
Concluding Prayer
Lord Jesus, at the sixth hour you were crucified for our sins. As we pause at midday, remember us with the compassion you showed the penitent thief; who lives and reigns with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.
Dismissal

Let us praise the Lord.
And give him thanks.
