Opening

O God, come to my assistance.

Lord, make haste to help me.

Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.

Hymn
Come, Lord, Do Not Delay
Come, Lord, do not delay;
your people wait for you;
illuminate this midday hour
with all that is your truth.
Psalmody
Psalm 119Let Your Mercies Come (He)
Ant. Come, Lord, and do not delay; have mercy on us, who have sinned against you.
And let your mercies come upon me, O Lord, your salvation according to your word.
And so I will answer those who reproach me in any matter, for I hope in your words.
And do not take away from my mouth the word of truth in any way, for I hoped exceedingly in your judgments.
And I will keep your law always, forever and ever.
And I walked in breadth, for I have sought your commandments.
And I spoke of your testimonies in the sight of kings, and I was not confounded.
And I meditated on your commandments, which I loved.
And I lifted up my hands to your commandments, which I loved, and I practiced your justifications.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Come, Lord, and do not delay; have mercy on us, who have sinned against you.
Psalm 119Remember Your Word (Vau)
Ant. Come, Lord, and do not delay; have mercy on us, who have sinned against you.
Be mindful of your word to your servant, in which you have given me hope.
This has consoled me in my humiliation, for your eloquence has given me life.
The proud have acted iniquitously in everything, but I have not declined from your law.
I was mindful of your judgments from of old, O Lord, and I was consoled.
A failure seized me, because of the wicked who forsake your law.
Your justifications were the subject of my song, in the place of my sojourning.
In the night I was mindful of your name, O Lord, and I kept your law.
This has come to me, because I sought your justifications.
Glory to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit:
as it was in the beginning, is now, and will be forever. Amen.
Ant. Come, Lord, and do not delay; have mercy on us, who have sinned against you.
Short Reading
Isaiah 11:2–3
The spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him: a spirit of wisdom and of understanding, a spirit of counsel and of strength, a spirit of knowledge and of fear of the Lord.
Responsory
V. Come, Lord Jesus, and do not delay.
R. Give new courage to your people.
Concluding Prayer
Lord, sharpen our attention this day. As we wait for your coming, keep us from the distractions that cloud our vision and the fears that shrink our hope; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
Dismissal

Let us praise the Lord.
And give him thanks.
